Ever give Cyberpunk any consideration?
Anonymous

Not specifically Cyberpunk, but the genre as a whole is pretty cool. Shadowrun always seemed like an awesome setting in general.

Man. Lots of games, no money or motivation to actually commit.

If you're looking for cool rulebooks, maybe check out Eclipse Phase. It's set IN SPACE after the earth got messed up by super-AIs and you can download your mind into different bodies and stuff.

I really need to check out Eclipse Phase. A good friend of mine actually ran a game some time ago and he said he liked it a lot. Transhumanism and stuff like that is fucking cool to me. Even just like, robot enhancements. Can’t go wrong with roboparts.

You're not wrong. Pathfinder's creators were involved with the creation of D&D 3.5. They split off and made their own version of the system, under the name Pathfinder. It's stood apart from D&D, as a rival and biggest competitor ever since. There's more to the story, but I can't recall it all off the top of my head.

Oh, that makes sense then. From the time period, it seems like it came out in response to 4e. Probably sparked by the drastic change in style? I know there was a big backlash to it, even though I honestly kinda liked the game. More games is never really a bad thing, though.

That’s cool. I never got to play 3.5e all THAT much but the one time I did I kinda found it a bit cumbersome. It was forever ago, so I don’t remember the specifics, but I definitely remember having trouble making the character. This was like, right out of high school for me, though, so I could’ve just been bad.

Less restriction is always a good thing, I think. Giving players more to work with.
